Frequently asked questions

How do I read a broken QR code?
Upload a photo or screenshot of the code. Semacode improves contrast and sharpness, aligns the code and tries to decode the content – all locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
What kind of damage can still be read?
Blur, scratches, fading, creases and a missing quiet zone can often be corrected. It only becomes critical when one of the three corner markers or a large part of the data area is destroyed.
Is it free?
Yes – instant reading in your browser is free. For severely damaged codes you can send them in, and we'll let you know as soon as we can recover them.
